The 2005 Kia Sportage was Kia’s re-entry into the ever more popular SUV market. SUV’s have been selling consistently better since their introduction into the market. Only very recently have their sales began to drop because of the incredible gas prices people are forced to pay, combined with the fact that as a class SUVs are not especially fuel efficient.
The 2005 Kia Sportage was built in both inline-4 and V6 models. The inline-4 is available in both manual and automatic transmissions, and the V6 only with an automatic. Both models had AWD as an additional option, but it was only available on the manual version of the 4-cylinder engine.
One of the car’s more saleable qualities was the safety features that were included in the car’s basic package, especially when you took into consideration what a similar package would cost you from any other manufacturer. There is also a more deluxe package of the V6 AWD vehicle that came with additional options.
